Suicide/Overdose Loss Support Group

Portage, WI every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5:30-6:30 PM.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, September 3rd.

Sinsinawa Mound, WI Sept 5 -6

-Inspiring speakers sharing practical tools and big-picture insights

-Hands-on demonstrations of soil-building practices, including adaptive grazing, living roots, and our Stock Cropper Cluster Cluck 5000 debut

-An engaging panel exploring what works when adopting soil care practices and why

Reedsburg, WI, Saturday, September 6, 10 AM - 10 PM

Blake's Tinman Mental Health Foundation's annual Triathlon, Concert, and Mental Health Fundraiser

The triathlon race starts at 11 AM, coffee truck, music, followed by the Cornhole Tournament at 2 PM, live music from 3–10 PM. Throughout the day, enjoy plenty of good food, plenty of drinks, activities for kids, silent auctions, and raffle prizes for your chance to win while supporting an amazing cause. Prevent Suicide Columbia County

Come join us for a day filled with positivity and community spirit at 305 E Slifer St. Lace up your sneakers, grab your friends, and let's walk together for a great cause. Whether you're walking in memory of a loved one, supporting a friend, or simply spreading awareness, this event is for you. Let's make a difference and spread hope one step at a time. Adams County Suicide Prevention

Friendship, WI Saturday, September 6th at 9AM at Friendship Park. No entry fee! The event will include local stories and Adams County suicide data, raffle prizes (must be present to win), snacks and more. All money raised goes directly back into the community to support mental health/suicide prevention activities.

Suicidal thoughts and mental health conditions can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or background. It is not a weakness and can be helped with mental health support and treatment. This event aims to reduce stigma surrounding suicide and promote the resources that are available in the community. Suicide is preventable!

Gundersen Friendship Hospital and Adams County Health and Human Services Aging and Disability Services

A new, six-week Working Through Grief program is being launched to support community members who are navigating life after the loss of a loved one. Registration is required. Richland Center, WI | Sept 23

If you were experiencing poor mental health, would you seek out help? Unfortunately, the answer for many is no because of mental health stigma. Mental health stigma is the negative attitudes, beliefs, and discriminatory behaviors directed towards those experiencing mental health challenges. Tuesday, September 23, 11 AM - 12 PM Central Time

COMET is a direct response to rural community members’ concerns about mental health needs. COMET is a community-based intervention to activate community members and provide them with language, tools, and confidence to intervene when they notice someone around them is unwell, and before a mental health crisis occurs. COMET supports community wellness by focusing on the upstream prevention of mental and emotional health crises.

A mother-daughter team (Nurse Practitioner and Agricultural Extension Agent) discusses how farm families can preserve their legacy by prioritizing mental, emotional, and physical health across generations. Representing 2 generations of their farming family, they discuss chronic stressors unique to farm life, including economic pressures and isolation.

Virtual, Wednesday, September 24, 11 AM - 12 PM Central Time

Summary: Communication coaching is a specific program with a method that works with the members of farm teams and farm families to make decision making, goal setting, and conversations in general, better. This presentation will address generational differences, share communication teaching ideas, and discuss a specific 4-session coaching program that participants may be interested in adapting.

Virtual, 1-hour Self-Paced Online Course

Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and NY FarmNet, in partnership with Rural Minds, are offering this free online course tailored for veterinary students, veterinarians, and agribusiness professionals. The course provides an overview of mental-health challenges, including suicide, in rural America, and equips participants with practical support strategies and resources.
