Plain, WI - April 11, 2026 - A Morning Well Spent with Farm Families
On a Saturday morning in April, nearly 20 farm and rural families gathered at the Kraemer Library and Community Center in Plain, Wisconsin for something simple, practical, and long overdue — a chance to breathe, connect, and stock their freezers.
FAN partnered with the Sauk County Farm Bureau to host the Freezer Meal Workshop, bringing attendees together from 9 to 11 a.m. for a hands-on session where each participant went home with 10 ready-to-cook meals. The goal was straightforward: take a little stress out of mealtime during a season when farmers have precious little time to spare.
And that's exactly what happened.
Farming families carry a full load — long days, unpredictable seasons, and the mental weight that comes with running an agricultural operation. A freezer stocked with easy meals might seem like a small thing, but it's one less decision, one less scramble at the end of an exhausting day. That matters.
"It was just what I needed — conversation, time, teamwork."
"Connection and fun and keeping our families tummies full and happy!"
The workshop was more than a cooking class. It was a reminder that farm families deserve support that meets them where they are — practical, community-rooted, and genuinely helpful.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and made this morning such a success. Events like this are possible because of the farmers who say yes, and the community that shows up alongside them.
