Full Schoolhouse for Brian Reisinger's Talk on Family Farms
September 28, 2026 - Rural Sauk City, WI - Nearly 50 people filled the historic Harrisburg One Room School near Sauk City on September 27 to hear local author Brian Reisinger share stories from his award-winning book, Land Rich, Cash Poor.
The restored schoolhouse, just down the road from the farm where Brian grew up, provided a meaningful setting for a conversation about the challenges facing family farms and rural communities.
Brian shared stories of his family's history, the changing landscape of agriculture, and the economic and personal struggles that have contributed to the loss of family farms across America. The discussion brought together people of all ages, including farm families who have experienced these challenges firsthand.
Reflecting on the turnout and meaningful conversations, Brian shared,
“Moments like these give me hope.”
Brian is a longtime friend and advocate of Farmer Angel Network. He featured FAN in Land Rich, Cash Poor, and he and his parents have been strong supporters of farmer mental health and well-being.
A full schoolhouse is a powerful reminder that people care about the future of family farming. Conversations like these help bring awareness to the challenges farmers face, strengthen community connections, and remind farm families that they are not alone.
We're grateful to Brian, his family, and everyone who continues to speak up for our farmers and rural communities.
No One Farms Alone.
