October 8, 2023 - Witwen, WI - Farmer Angel Network focused on lifting the spirits of our agricultural community at the Fermentation Fest: Spirits Edition. The weekend was jam-packed with events in beautiful rural Witwen Park and celebrated live culture in all its forms and the significance of rural places.
Local artist Katie Schofield designed a piece for Farmer Angel Network to showcase at the event. The piece titled "5 Farms" highlights the vast diversity of farms in Sauk County. From 3.5 acre farms for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares, to 1250 acres - 700 cow dairies, family farms vary thoughout the county. We have prize winning registered cattle, sheep, hogs, chickens, and even llamas. Featured farms include Branders Dairy Farm, LLC, Bula's Pleasant Valley Farm, Orange Cat Community Farm, Plain Pastures, and United Dreams Dairy, LLC.
Representatives from Farmer Angel Network were available with resource materials. Participants added leaves to the tree for farmers to lift their spirits. Messages included encouragement such as:
Thank you for making a difference
Bless your hands, bless your lands, and all that you provide for us
It is hard work but better than an office cubicle
Thank you for all of your hard work
Everyday I am nourished by your work
Fermentation Fest is organized by Wormfarm Institute in collaboration with regional partners. Thank you to this partnership to lift the spirits of our local farmers and farm workers.
