Chapter launch in the media

Mineral Point, WI - May 2026

The launch of the Southwest Wisconsin Chapter of Farmer Angel Network has received strong community support and media attention. Founded in memory of Myles Reichling, the chapter is working to strengthen farmer mental health awareness, peer support, and suicide prevention efforts across Lafayette and Grant counties. Below are recent news stories and media features highlighting the chapter launch and the growing conversation around rural mental health.

We also encourage media, partners, and community members to use safe and respectful language when talking about suicide and mental health. Words matter. Current best practices recommend using phrases such as “died by suicide” instead of stigmatizing or outdated language. Thoughtful messaging can reduce stigma, encourage conversation, and help people feel safer reaching out for support. We encourage anyone sharing stories or resources related to suicide prevention to review the language guidance from Suicide Prevention Alliance and the Safe Messaging Guidelines.

If you or someone you know is struggling, you do not have to carry it alone. You can reach out to Farmer Angel Network, the Wisconsin Farmer Wellness Program, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988 any time, 24/7. Support is available, and asking for help is a sign of strength.
