Farmer Angel Network had a great time at the Ho-Chunk Nation Summer Block Party, helping folks talk about mental health in a simple, down-to-earth way.
Kids picked animals that matched how they were feeling—like a bear for feeling strong or a turtle for needing to slow down. Grown-ups chose words that felt “heavy” or “light.” The heavy ones went into a jar to leave behind, and the light ones were taken home to share with others.
The event, hosted by the Ho-Chunk Nation Department of Health, was full of good food, family fun, games, and helpful local resources.
Big thanks to the Ho-Chunk Nation for having us and helping shine a light on mental health in our communities! And to FAN volunteers Dorothy Harms and Carole Ewalt for representing FAN!
